Hungry....all the time

sunny 21 °C

I have been hungry basically my entire stay in Europe so far. I think it is a mixture of walking everywhere and eating my largest meals at lunch that is making me feel this way. I get up most mornings famished but can't force myself to eat a lot for breakfast. Lunch is another ordeal as my group of friends here convene for our afternoon fare at 11:30AM!! Around 3pm, I am starving! I refrain from eating anything again until dinner but some days it is hard.

One good thing about my new German diet is that I walk to and from work and so much during my free time that even when I do finish a full lunch (which is rare) I don't feel too guilty. Eating things like spatzle, potatoe balls, raviolli, veggies in cream sauce (why is the cream necessar), and some meats makes me worry about weight gain.

In Spain, this past weekend, I was constantly hungry. I would eat a sandwich and as soon as I got up, I was immediately hungry. I guess all the speed walking to see all the sights accounted for the food passing through my system qucikly. I will see how my hunger pains pan out when I visit other countries/cities.

However, last night I had some Thai food and was actually full after I ate. It was great but I am back to my regular diet so I guess I will be hungry for the next few months. :)
