Stuttgarter Frühlingsfest - Spring Festival

overcast 11 °C

Last week I had the privilage of going to the Stuttgarter Frühlingsfest (spring festival) after work. I went with 2 friends to walk around and drink beer, on a week night! I love Germany!!!

This festival is apparently the 2nd largest after the fall festival in Stuttgart region. It certainly is smaller than Oktoberfest in Munich but no less festive. I mean people were falling down drunk all over the park, beer was flowing like water, riders were spinning and climbing like it was a Saturday. Only thing, it was a Tuesday evening.

Shit, Europeans know how to friggin live!!! I loved being amoung such carefreeness (I know that is not a word but...meh, it's my blog) and cheerfulness.

I only wish I knew a few of the songs the musician was singing in the beer tent we decided to make home base while we drank a few beers.

I enjoyed just 2 brews (and they weren't even full) as I can't stomach it most times. It is either the beer is too strong, as in the highly popular Stuttgarter Hofbräu (shuddering) or the the smell turns me off but either way, I seem to end up gagging most times. :) I did try my best last week and downed as much as I could of the 1L beer (I think that was the size).

My friend Tobias had to help me part way through but I was instructed to drink the rest. I did and I enjoyed it....the smell was a bit much though. But, I am enjoying all this beer drinking, as much as I can tolerate that is.

Our time at the frühlingsfest
