No love for Italy

14 °C

When I was asking for advise on places to visit on my weekends here, I was told by everyone and their mother that I must visit Italy. Every time I was told this, I felt dread inside. You see, unlike a majority of people, Italy is not on my radar of places to visit. Honestly! I can't tell you why exactly, but I just have no desire to go there. Rome holds no interest to me as it is just looks too big, crowded, and lackluster. I know I might be wrong but I don't care what others say. I just can't. If I had to step foot into Italy, it would only be to visit maybe Venice.

People tried to convince me time and again but to no avail. I have had the opportunity and time to go there over the last 2.5 months but I always brushed over my Italian options in search of somewhere else. I have opted to stay in Germany numerous times just because I simply love the landscape and history of this country. Trust me, it is NOT cheaper as the DB is brutally expensive so there is no real cost saving.

I thought I would write this now before I have to answer questions as to why I didn't do Italy. I just don't care to. It is like I was dying to see Switzerland but after being to Austria, I'm good. Have you ever felt this way? Had no interest in visiting a country or city despite it's popularity?
